As you know, Chip & I are now engaged and one of the first things
we hear - after the initial excited
response – is always, “So….Have you set a date?” While we have not yet set a
date, we do know that we want the wedding to be in New Jersey (near Chip’s
hometown). This means finding a date
will be a little harder for us because in order to set a date, we need a venue;
and finding a venue in New Jersey will take a little longer since it is a couple
states away. Luckily, Chip and I have a plan of attack and have booked our trip
for New Jersey to view venues, his church and the priest. (Thanks in large part to Chip’s Mom for
scheduling everything in one weekend!
She’s incredible!!!) However, as
I have never planned a wedding before, I have no idea what to look for or what
to ask at each place. Thank goodness for the internet! After perusing websites, I compiled a list of
questions in a word document and transferred all of it to an Excel spreadsheet.
The Excel spreadsheet lists all the venues in separate columns. This will make it harder to forget the sheet at home as I will
only have the one sheet. It should also make it easier for us to compare answers/venues, make a decistion, and thus, have a date for everyone who asks.
I added a photo of my Excel spreadsheet below as, unfortunately, I could not
figure-out how to upload the Excel spread sheet to this blog (so if you know
how to do this, please let me know in the comments section below). Hopefully
the photo is large enough to read so you can copy it into your own Excel
spreadsheet in case, you too, are planning your own wedding. If you would rather have my
Excel document, instead, just email me at chipandwhitneyswedding@gmail.com
and I will send it to you.
After we have picked a venue, I will make sure put a post on this blog
& will put all the other information into the “Reception” tab.
Stay posted!!... :)
My Excel sheet of venue questions. Hopefully this is a good starting point if you are going through the same thing... |
