Breakfast At Tiffany's

About a month ago, Chip and I had breakfast at Tiffany’s.  Like most people, I really like the movie “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” starring  Audrey Hepburn, but I didn’t think it was real.  I thought it was something they made-up in the movies. Haha So, as you can image, when we first received the invitation I thought I was dreaming. lol (See the photo below for the Tiffany & Co Invitation).  I had no idea what to expect...

When the day finally arrived, Chip & I hopped in his car and drove to the Tiffany & Co store located in the Somerset Collection.  Luckily, we RSVPed, so when we walked in they checked us off their list and we were allowed to enter.  Inside it was like a dream!  (Did I say that already?! Lol). There were servers in tuxes walking around with silver trays full of Tiffany & Co. crystal champagne glasses with Mimosa’s and Prosecco.  Hors-d'oeuvres were floating around also, with little pastries and bite size morsels to eat.  They were delicious!  We were able to talk with one of the attendants who re-sized my engagement ring for free, sized Chip's finger, had us try on wedding rings, and told us about their registry… they made everything so easy for us.

At the end, they gave us an engagement present.  I restrained myself from opening it all the way until I was back inside Chip's car! :)  When I was seatbelted in, I opened the box with Chip. ...Inside were two crystal champagne glasses!  They were SO beautiful!  I think we will use them at the wedding for our first toast during the reception.

We had such a great time!  Thank you Tiffany & Co. for all your help & the beautiful engagement present.  Below is the Tiffany & Co. invitation and are photos from the breakfast:

PLEASE RESERVE YOUR HOTEL ROOM SOON

Hi Guys!  We just reserved a block of rooms at our hotel, Minerals Resort & Spa.  Even though Save-The-Date or invitations have not been sent, yet, we strongly recommend – and it would be a big help to us – if you reserved your room as soon as possible.  Even if you have not decided that you are coming, if you could please still reserve your room as you can cancel the reservation all the way up to 72hours before the check-in day.  We have 25 rooms reserved but are anticipating that we might need more, so by reserving your room now, we will be able to reserve  another block if necessary, before there are no vacancies.

Blog Updates

Hi, everyone!

I have been updating our wedding website with a bunch of information in each of the pages/tabs above. Please look at the Church and Reception tabs for photos, addresses, and potential times/agenda.

Also, the Misc. page has information about airports and things to do in Franklin when not attending wedding functions.

We (the whole family) are in the process of setting-up shuttles from the hotel/reception and back, the rehearsal dinner, meet & greets, photographers, making the favors, organizing an engagement cocktail party in Michigan (as the wedding will be just for immediate family and friends), and attending Notre Dame Football games! Woot Woot! :)!!!

Here's the latest photos of Chip & I from the Notre Dame VS. U. of Texas football game on Saturday, September 5, 2015:

Goofy photo of Whitney & Chip...or maybe just an awkward selfie... lol!

As usual, check back for more updates soon!
XOXO :)!!!

We Have A Date!

Wow!  New Jersey was such a whirlwind!  Chip and I just arrived home last Sunday after viewing five (5) venues, three (3) hotels and one church in a little less than 3 days.  It was a tough decision, but…we found our venue:  Perona Farms’ Venetian Room (see the photos I took below, colors and decorations to change).  And, the best part?!! We have a date!! Our wedding will be on Saturday, June 18, 2016 – Only 10 months away!

Not only am I super excited about the wedding and spending time with everyone we love, but I am also looking forward to the year ahead of planning…especially the CAKE TASTING!!! Hahaha  The owner of Perona Farms, Mark, told me the trick to cake tasting - he said “First, they will bring ten (10) cakes samples for you to try.  And, what you do, is tell them that you do not like any of them and that you will need to try 10 more!” lololollolol!  I cannot wait!

I will post the pictures of the church and the hotel in their respective tabs on this blog soon. In these tabs I will list the addresses and other information you may need to know.  Come back soon to see!

Wedding Venue Questions

So many questions! -Created by yours truely.
As you know, Chip & I are now engaged and one of the first things we hear  - after the initial excited response – is always, “So….Have you set a date?” While we have not yet set a date, we do know that we want the wedding to be in New Jersey (near Chip’s hometown).  This means finding a date will be a little harder for us because in order to set a date, we need a venue; and finding a venue in New Jersey will take a little longer since it is a couple states away. Luckily, Chip and I have a plan of attack and have booked our trip for New Jersey to view venues, his church and the priest.  (Thanks in large part to Chip’s Mom for scheduling everything in one weekend!  She’s incredible!!!)  However, as I have never planned a wedding before, I have no idea what to look for or what to ask at each place. Thank goodness for the internet!  After perusing websites, I compiled a list of questions in a word document and transferred all of it to an Excel spreadsheet. The Excel spreadsheet lists all the venues in separate columns.  This will make it harder to forget the sheet at home as I will only have the one sheet.  It should also make it easier for us to compare answers/venues, make a decistion, and thus, have a date for everyone who asks.
I added a photo of my Excel spreadsheet below as, unfortunately, I could not figure-out how to upload the Excel spread sheet to this blog (so if you know how to do this, please let me know in the comments section below). Hopefully the photo is large enough to read so you can copy it into your own Excel spreadsheet in case, you too, are planning your own wedding.  If you would rather have my Excel document, instead, just email me at chipandwhitneyswedding@gmail.com and I will send it to you.
After we have picked a venue, I will make sure put a post on this blog & will put all the other information into the “Reception” tab.
Stay posted!!... :)
My Excel sheet of venue questions.  Hopefully this is a good starting point if you are going through the same thing...
